A FAT WRECK (2016)
Mostly garbage bands from a mostly garbage scene on a label run by a mostly garbage dude. Movie was pretty watchable, though. Those bands all blend together to me. Strung Out kept talking about how metal they are, and I was just thinking that they sounded, at best, slightly different from the rest. Propaghandi obviously sticks out. Fat Mike was at least smart enough to surround himself with people at the label (like his now ex-wife) who seem to have their shit together and were able to handle the quick rise of the label.
I think this scene pretty much sums up the label: Propaghandi writes a song that disses Fat Mike and records it for a record to be released on Fat. Mike calls Mr. Brett and some other label guy and asks them what he should do. They both tell him to drop the band immediately. He shrugs his shoulders and says, "whatever" and just releases the record.
Entertaining. I'm not sad I watched this.
