THE LONG WAY BACK: THE STORY OF TODD ‘Z-MAN’ ZALKINS (2017)

I was kinda curious who this "Z-Man" musician was that I've never heard of before. Turns out he was just a Sublime hanger on, and had a joke band. He starred in the video for Sublime's song Date Rape.

This is like an extended episode of Intervention without the close-ups of the drug use or Seely. Z-Man parties with the band. Band guy ODs and dies, and Z-Man turns up the partying and does mountains of coke, among other things. He's the stereotypical life of the party guy that everyone likes for some reason. This personality made him a good insurance agent, so he ended up with enough money to extend the life of his drug habit for quite a few years.

Now he's cleaned up and is an interventionist. This movie seemed to have been made mostly to stroke Z-Man's ego. Recommended only for fans of the Long Beach Dub All-Stars.
